Angola sets up commission for upcoming World Diamond Summit

The Angolan Cabinet Council has approved the establishment of a multi- sectoral commission to oversee preparations for the World Summit on Diamonds, which is scheduled for November 2009 in Luanda
The program will be according to the theme of “the role and reputation of diamonds” and will focus on the value of diamonds for sustainable development.
This new initiative in the World Diamond Industry will bring together distinguished members of diamond producing countries, leading companies and experts of the industry around the concept of the “diamond”, a commodity of many emotions.
An average of 15.000 people is expected to be present, amongst delegates, exhibitors and visitors from which 2.000 will be foreigners.
