Israeli Diamond Industry to shine at Vicenzaoro Winter 2008
by Jo Black
The Israeli Diamond Industry will shine brightly at Vicenzaoro Winter 2008, to be held from January 13 – 20, 2008. An Israel Diamond Pavilion featuring leading Israeli manufacturers and exporters will once again be strategically placed on the prestigious Diamond Avenue in Pavilion G.
This year IDI will host the largest contingent ever, with nine Israeli companies exhibiting a wide variety of goods, including loose stones and diamond-set jewelry. The Pavilion will include: A.G. Diamond Direct Ltd., Eizenstein Diamonds Ltd., Fancy Colours Ltd., Gal Diamonds Ltd., Lustig Brothers Ltd., Moshe Namdar & Co. Ltd., SDE Group, S.K.R. Fine Jewelry and YEI – Yahalomei Espeka Ltd.
IDI will have an informational booth within the pavilion to provide general information on doing business with Israel. In keeping with tradition, the pavilion will host a cocktail hour every day from 3:00 pm.
Israel continues to be a leading commercial and manufacturing center for the world diamond industry, exporting over $6 billion of polished diamonds annually. Although the major part of Israel’s exports still go to the U.S. and Far East, exports to European markets are growing significantly, with Belgium and Switzerland Israel’s third and fourth largest markets respectively. For the first 11 months of the year exports to Switzerland rose by 42%, to England by 34% and to Belgium by 20%.
IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said, we view the European markets with great interest and seek to enhance The Israeli Diamond Industry’s marketing efforts throughout the continent. Israeli diamantaires are working closely with European jewelry designers and manufacturers and we expect that this trend will strengthen. Vicenzaoro, as the first major trade event on the European diamond and jewelry calendar, is a most significant platform for the Israeli industry, and that’s why we decided to enhance our presence there this year.
