by Jo Black

South India Jewellery Show 2008 is scheduled to be held from Jan 18-20th at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bangalore. The venue had to be changed from KTPO Trade Center to the Stadium as the location and accessibility of the stadium was better suited for the trade event.

Hailed as south India’s premier B2B Jewelry show, SIJS 2008 will be organized by Art of Jewellery in association with the World Gold Council. The other supporters of the event include All India Gem and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), Bangalore Jewellers Association, Government of Karnataka and all the major trade associations of south India.

With over 150 exhibitors participating at the show, the organizers are hopeful to draw nearly 10,000 visitors in the three-day event.

Sumesh Wadhera, Convenor, SIJS 2008 says that SIJS 2008 is the ideal platform for a B2B interaction for manufacturers and wholesalers with a wide spectrum of the South India jewellery retail trade. The show will be instrumental in bringing a wide variety of designs, from various parts of India, to the South Indian region.

The event will provide an opportunity for participants to expand their business connections, and initiate tie-ups and partnerships. In addition, it aims to provide a unique platform to promote and showcase latest designs, products and services along with latest technologies and processes related to the trade. These will enhance the efficiency and productivity of the retail jewelry industry along with catering to its growing demands.

The show will play host to a wide array of jewelry products like gold and diamond jewellery, colorstone jewellery, silver jewellery, loose stones, machinery and allied products
