by Jo Black

HRD Antwerp NV, the subsidiary of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), is all set to exhibit at the Amberif fair in Gdansk, Poland, from March 11-15, 2008. The company’s stand will be located in Hall 3, Booth B01.

Also at the fair, a gemmologist from the HRD Precious Stones Lab will present a lecture for participants. Entitled “Emerald Origin Revisited,” it will take place March 14 at 10.30 a.m., in Hall B7, Room 2. The lecture will be followed by a reception in the mezzanine of Hall 4, hosted by the graduates club of HRD Antwerp.

About 500 exhibitors are expected to take part in the15th anniversary edition of the fair, which includes a new exhibition hall and an extensive program of seminars.

HRD Antwerp has a cooperation agreement with the Polish Association of Jewellery Experts (SRJ) that includes diamond grading courses and hands-on workshops.

Poland is traditionally considered market in which amber is the dominant gemstone, but as the Polish consumers’ purchasing power has risen in recent years, sales of diamond jewellery have demonstrated cautious but steady growth.
