IDI to sponsor Jovella Jewelry Exhibition

by Jo Black

For the first time this year, the IDI Group of Companies will sponsor Jovella, the international jewelry exhibition held annually in Tel Aviv, Israel. Jovella 2008, which is also being sponsored by the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor’s Administration of Diamonds, Precious Stones & Jewelry, the Israel Jewelry Manufacturers Association and the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute, will be held from July 1 – 3, 2008 at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds. IDI is sponsoring this exhibition as part of its strategy of enhancing cooperation between the diamond and jewelry industries in Israel.

Jovella will to feature about 200 exhibitors in the categories of gold, silver, diamonds, precious stones, fashion jewelry, Judaica, watches and pens. About 12,000 visitors are expected to attend the three day event, including about 300 buyers from abroad.

Moti Ganz, Chairman of the IDI Group of Companies, said that IDI’s involvement in Jovella showed its commitment to expanding business opportunities for The Israeli Diamond Industry. We are pleased to be partners in Jovella 2008. This exhibition has proven to be an excellent showcase for the superb creativity and craftsmanship of Israel’s jewelry designers and manufacturers. We hope that our involvement will promote the show in global markets and further business opportunities for both Israel’s diamond and jewelry industries.

Jovella will feature an Israeli Designers Avenue, which will host some of the most innovative and original Israeli designers. Israel’s jewelry is renowned for its creative designs, up-to-date fashions and excellent quality. Part of its appeal is due to the influence of Israel’s great m?lange of cultures and traditions, combining exotic with state-of-the art, and ethnic with cosmopolitan.

A Gala Dinner is scheduled to be held during the show, which will feature a jewelry fashion show. In addition a seminar program is being planned. Visitors from abroad will also have an opportunity to visit the Israel Diamond Exchange and the newly redesigned Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum, both located in the Diamond Complex in Ramat Gan.

Israel exports about $400 million in jewelry every year, with most of this being sold in U.S. markets. In addition, Israel’s jewelry exports are sold in Russia, the UK, Hong Kong, Canada, Belgium, Spain, France, Japan and other destinations.
