Diagem updates chapadăo samples

Diagem Inc. report that in addition to the gem-quality 6.23 carat diamond recovered in its first bulk sample on the Chapadão, the second bulk sample recovered 13 diamonds larger than one carat three of which are white gem-quality diamonds weighing 1.76, 1.38 and 1.20 carats. Some of the other diamonds may be classified as gem or near-gem quality pending a gemological analysis.

Denis Francoeur, CEO of Diagem commented, Artisanal miners have reported even coarser diamonds from the Chapadão area. Diagem is confident that the future will reveal more and coarser stones of exceptional quality.

These results were obtained prior to an IBAMA intervention that forced the Company to cease all activities on the Chapadão Project. The Chapadão Project has the potential to become a major employer for the community and has the promise of a significant return for the shareholders who have long supported the Company. The Company is vigorously pursuing all legal means of reversing the IBAMA intervention with the goal of rapidly resuming field activities.
