OGI launches OGI X-RAY
by Jo Black
OGI SYSTEMS Ltd. the World’s leading company in technological solutions for the diamond industry, is proud to announce its biggest inauguration advances of its revolutionary developments and inventions, that will be presented to the public during the JCK Vegas Show 2008.
These revolutionary developments are the landmark in the technological field of the Polish and Rough diamonds manufacturing.
The first technological development is the Top of the Art OGI X-RAY for automatic mapping and evaluation of the inclusions in the diamond without any LIQUID for coating it or necessity to open WINDOW, especially for coated stones.
By the revolutionary X-Ray technology a complete and exact mapping of the pique inclusion within the stone is revealed.
The X-Ray system automatically analyses the carbonized particles in the stone and displays them in a graphical and visual mode in a computerized software. The data results are transmitted into then OGIRex special rough Software for complete planning and evaluation of the optimal polished diamond the manufacturer will produce out of the rough.
The X-Ray scanning allows the manufacturer to have a full and accurate indication of the REAL size and location of the inclusion in the diamond and by that aid to calculate the precise value of the polished diamond at the end of the process.
The second important technological creation and development that will be presented at the JCK 2008 show is the Fire Lab Standard - OGF. OGISYSTEMS Ltd. created a new standard for the industry that defines the FIRE in the diamond and by doing so allows grading the level of’ aliveness’ of the diamond into 4 mayor categories: Excellent Fire, Very Good Fire, Good Fire, Fair Fire.
The grading and evaluation of the light reflection of the diamond is based on a data base that contains innumerous combinations of different proportions of the diamond surface such as: Crown Angle, Pavilion angle, Table size, Total depth, girdle thickness, culet size and more.
The software allows the use of another option known as the FireRecut This function allows the polisher to re-plan the diamond according to new parameters, thus giving the stone maximum Fire intensity and as a result of this upgrades the light in the stone from Very Good Fire toExcellent Fire.
